Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://badhotel-sternhagen.com

Status of compliance with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA.

Valuation methods (July 2025):

automated tests (WAVE, Google Lighthouse)
manual keyboard and structure checks
internal editorial checks for semantic and linguistic clarity

Measures already implemented

All images have alternative text.
Consistent use of semantic HTML elements (<main>, <nav>, <header>, <footer>).
Logically structured heading structure.
Responsive design for mobile devices.
Clear, understandable language.
All sliders can be paused by users (pause function).

Additional help tools

We offer an accessibility plugin via the round icon in the bottom right corner. It includes:

Customizable font and text sizes
Contrast and dark mode
Blue light filter
Modes for color blindness
Reading magnifying glass / reading aid
Screen reader optimization
Disable animations
accessible fonts
large cursor

The plugin complements technical accessibility but does not completely replace it.

Known barriers

PDF documents (e.g. menus) are not yet fully accessible (missing tags, reading order, alternative texts).
External booking systems (DIRS 21): Our direct booking engine Vioma already meets many important requirements of the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG), such as screen reader compatibility, an accessible menu, and legible fonts.
Please note, however, that the booking engine on the homepage is currently not fully keyboard-compatible . This is due to technical limitations of the provider DIRS21, which are beyond our direct control. DIRS21 states that they are already working on further improvements to further increase accessibility. As new features become available, we will integrate them immediately.
Contrast issues with text and controls occasionally occur. Adjustments are possible via the plugin; fundamental color changes have not yet been implemented in order to maintain the corporate design.
