The Hidden Treasure – Wine Cellar in the Dune, In Vino Veritas

The Spa Hotel Sternhagen, located directly at the North Sea Coast, was built on a dune. In this dune, 3 metres below sea level, you can discover a fabulous wine cellar, not just for wine connoisseurs.

This wine cellar, 200sq m in size, is well looked after and maintained by our sommelier and restaurant manager Mr. Onno Siemons (pictured), is home to 540 varieties of grape, originating from 15 countries, in approximately 15000 bottles, some of which are truly valuable. All are stored at their proper temperature on the 3 levels in our wine cellar which can be viewed at most times.

The highly respected New York wine magazine "Wine Spectator" has awarded the wine list of the Spa Hotel Sternhagen with the "Award of Excellence" 8 times. In the last three years our wine cellar was even awarded with the "Best of Award of Excellence". From the "Fein- und Weinschmecker 'Der Metternich' " our wine list received the highest note "5 Flaschen" ("5 Bottles").
